Shoppers trust big brands in hard times

Shoppers are more inclined to stick with trusted brands, opting not to compromise on quality even during hard times, as private labels inspire less trust than much-loved national brands.

While they may purchase them, a majority of South African consumers say they are not loyal to store brands or private label products, a Nielsen study showed on Monday.
